High School Youth Faints In Mother's Arms, Death Follows
Herman Massingale, 16, died suddenly at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Massingale, 777 Third avenue. Herman had not been well for some time. He fainted in his mother's arms while seated at the dinner table, dying a few minutes later. Herman Massingale was born Feb. 26, 1910 in Marion. He was a member of the ninth grade of the Senior high school, and was popular with both students and teachers. He leaves besides his parents, three sisters, Mrs. Charles Barkwill and Clara Massingale of this city, and Mrs. Minnie Boyer of Clinton.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Free Methodist church with the Rev. C.O. Monroe officiating. Burial will be in Oak Shade.
