Mrs. Lois Amy Martin, widow of William J. Martin, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lillian Hill, 1119 J avenue, at noon Friday. She was 79 years old.
Mrs. Martin was born Nov. 28, 1844 in Erie county, Pennsylvania, but moved to this city in 1886 where she had lived for thirty-eight years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs Katherine Evans of Iowa City, and Mrs. Lillian Hill, this city, two sons, Horace P. and Vernon H., both of Cedar Rapids, one brother, W.A. Cook of Minburn, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Gardner, of Oelwein.
She was a member of St. James Methodist church and of the Women's Christian Temperance Union.
Services will be held from the Turner chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. L.W. Soule, pastor of St. James. Burial will be in Linwood.
