Cedar Rapids Gazette Saturday February 14, 1942
Jesse A Cassidy, 58, of 510 C avenue NE, a bricklayer who had lived in Cedar Rapids for 40 years, died in a nursing home at 1010 First avenue NE. at 12:30 p.m. Saturday after a long illness. The body was taken to the Beatty Funeral home.
Mr. Cassidy is survived by his wife, Hattie, and eight children, Mrs. Milo Vanourney, Arthur, Earl, Milo and Loretta of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. John Storey and James of Carbondale, Ill., and Claude in the U.S. navy. In addition there is a brother, Harvey, in Rock Island, Ill.
Funeral services will be held in the Beatty chapel at 2 p.m. Monday conducted by the Rev. C.J. Bready. Burial will be in the Oak Shade cemetery at Marion. Friends may call at the Beatty chapel after 5 p.m. Sunday.
