Mrs. Charles Nash, 73, life-long resident of Linn county, died at her home, 1910 Tenth avenue, Wednesday at 4 a.m. following a long illness.
As Eva Huffman, daughter of J. M. and Amelia Ann Huffman, she was born Jan. 2, 1861, on a farm near Marion. She was married to Charles F. Nash July 21, 1879, and they began housekeeping on the Huffman farm, living there until they retired in 1920 and moved to their present home. Mrs. Nash joined the Baptist church when she was a young woman, but when she moved to Marion she transferred her membership to the Presbyterian church.
She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Clyde Kearns of near Marion and Mrs. James T. Clark of St. Paul; three sisters, Mrs. Morris Howe, near Marion; Miss Zula Huffman, Marion, and Mrs. Howard Marshall of Minneapolis; three grandsons, Donovan T. Clark of St. Louis, James Carol Clark and Robert LeRoy Clark of St. Paul; and one great-grandson. A daughter, Ethel, and a son, Harold, died in infancy. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Sam Miller and Miss Lena Huffman.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 at the Yocom chapel. The Rev. W.E. Fisher, pastor of the Presbyterian church will be in charge. Burial will be in the family lot in Oak Shade cemetery.
