William E. Kearns, 78, a lifelong Linn county resident, died Wednesday afternoon in a Cedar Rapids hospital.
He was born Jan .20, 1885, in the Linn Grove community. Mr. Kearns moved to Marion in 1912. He made his home with his sister, Mabel Kearns, 344 Ninth street. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church.
Survivors include his sister, Mabel and a brother, Ralph, of Salem, Ore.
Services: Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Murdoch chapel by the Rev. Jean P. Hauter. Burial: Oak Shade. Friends may call at the chapel.
