18 January 1945 - The Anamosa Eureka

A high mass of requiem was celebrated by the Rev. Father Serovy Monday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Prairieburg for Frank J. Lawrence, 81, who died last Friday. Burial was at St. Joseph's cemetery, Prairieburg. Pallbearers were Joe Kula, Lou Kula, Albert C. Kula, Lou Yanda, John Lawrence and Frank Lawrence. McNamara Funeral Home was in charge.

Frank J. Lawrence, son of Andrew and Barbara Lawrence, was born April 23, 1863, in Buffalo township, Linn county, and died January 12, 1945, at the age of 81 years 8 months and 19 days. He spent his entire life in the community of Prairieburg and vicinity.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; four sisters, Mrs. Alfred Kula, Mrs. John Mirick of Prairieburg, Mrs. Joe Kula, sr., of Anamosa, and Mrs. Elizabeth Popash of Idaho; two sons, Frank of Prairieburg and Thomas of Stone City; and five daughters, Mrs. Paul Holub, Mrs. Anthony Tieffer, and Mrs. Tom Holub of Prairieburg, Mrs. Joe J. Holub of Springville and Mrs. Clifford LaBarge of Stone City.
