ALICE'S OBITUARY
Alice June Stegman, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, March, 10, 2021 peacefully at home with her husband by her side. Private services will be held at Teahen Funeral Home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Cemetery. Per Covid guidelines, attendees are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Alice is survived by her husband of 69 years, Dean; son, Jeffrey (Malynda) Stegman of Hiawatha; granddaughter, Samantha Stegman (Ken Templeton) of Des Moines; sister, Nancy (Cecil) Ellison of Solon, brother Robert (Jan) Coleman of Cedar Rapids and special godchild, Matthew (Shelly) Ellison of Solon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings, Roy Coleman, Adria McCormick, Harold Coleman, Helen McGowan, Arlene Baumgartner and Doris Leonard.
Alice was born on June 17, 1932 in Cedar Rapids the daughter of Charles and Bertha Odland Coleman. She attended Lone Willow Grade School and graduated in 1951 from Wilson High School, Cedar Rapids. Alice married Buddie Dean Stegman on November 10, 1951 in Des Moines. In 1976, she began Stegman Custom Draperies, retiring in 2019 and during this time she also worked for her son at MAKA Blind.
Alice enjoyed traveling, especially to Door County, WI, where she enjoyed the many restaurants and going shopping. She loved spending time with her family and hosting large holiday get togethers. Alice enjoyed playing golf and watching her favorite players. She was also an avid Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs fan and was known to play a few slot machines from time to time. Alice will be missed by her friends and family.
