Paul W. Lovell, 90, of Marion, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at the Villages of Marion. A private family service with military rites will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A livestream of
the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website under the obituary for Paul Lovell, under the video tab starting at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Following the continued guidance from health officials, physical distancing must be practiced, which requires a limited number of people allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of face masks or shields is required.
Survivors include two daughters, Lynette of Marion, and Sheryl (Nick) Mykris of Charlottesville, Va.; and one brother, Larry of Mechanicsville. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Glenn; and two sisters, Frances and Betty
Paul was born on July 22, 1930, in Cedar County, the son of Irvin and Dorothy (Shaefer) Lovell. He worked in maintenance at the U.S. Post Office for over 32 years, retiring in 1988.
Paul like to socialize and loved to dance. He wintered in Arizona several years. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
