Keith G. Wingfield, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at Cottage Grove Place. A private family service will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website under the obituary for Keith Wingfield, under the video tab starting at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time at the Chapel.
Following the continued guidance from health officials, physical distancing must be practiced, which requires a limited number of people allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of face masks or shields is required.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; a daughter, Kathleen Cassidy of Columbia, Mo.; a sisterm Gay Mercer of Amana; three grandchildren, Holly Fields of Chicago, Zachary Rump of St. Louis and Olivia Shocks of Gardner, Kan.; and three great-grandchildren Elijah, August and Autumn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Claude; and two sisters, Mary Ellen and Claudette.
Keith was born on July 30, 1930, in Linnville, the son of Claude and Berdena (Macy) Wingfield. He married Frances E. Parbs on Oct. 10, 1954, in Marion. Keith was a custodian for Linn County and retired from there after more than 25 years of service.
He enjoyed watching the Hawkeyes, time spent with family and friends as well as proudly serving his country in the National Guard.
Keith will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
