DIANA MARIE 'NANA' BENNINGTON

Diana Marie "Nana" Bennington, 80, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went to Heaven on Feb. 4, 2021, following a brief illness. Diana's wishes were to be cremated. At Diana's request, no services will be held.
Diana was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Rollie and Lillian Dutcher on Feb. 22, 1940. Diana graduated from Dayton High School in 1958. After graduation, Diana worked for the Fort Dodge Messenger Newspaper and married Marlyn Mehl in 1959. To this union, two daughters, Cindy and Julie Mehl, were born. Diana later re-married, Keith Bennington, from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Diana retired from United Fire and Casualty, Insurance where she worked for many years. After retirement, Diana was employed at Hardees, did housekeeping for the elderly and worked for the Fairfield Inn as a Continental Breakfast Hostess.
Diana, when she was younger, loved to go roller skating on Saturday nights with her sister, Nancy, and a few friends. Diana learned how to play the accordion, loved to embroidery quilt blocks, work on puzzles, listen and watch Gaither Videos and, most of all, she loved to read books on her IPAD all day long. Her favorite author was Debbie Macomber.
Diana is survived by her daughters, Cindy and Julie Mehl, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a sister, Nancy Ferrari, Pilot Mound, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Joyce Dutcher, Webster City, Iowa; three nieces, two nephews, great-nieces and -nephews; a son-in-law, Christopher Church, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandson, Richard L. Coulbourn, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; great-granddaughter, Danyka Coulbourn, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Danyka's mother, Caron Chalder, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and a special dog, Benji.
Diana was preceded in death by her father, Rollie Dutcher; her mother, Lillian Dutcher; her brother,, Mark Dutcher, Marlyn Mehl and Keith Bennington; brother-in-law, Larry Ferrari; grandparents, Bill and Hazel Dutcher, and Ben and Maude Lundquist; and a special friend, True Bergman.
Diana was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
