Mrs. Zachariah Izer died at her home on East Seventh avenue, Monday at 11:45 a.m. after a few days' serious illness, altho she had been in poor health for several years.
Susan Bowers was born at Hagerstown, Md., Nov. 22, 1858. She came to Toddville, Iowa, when she was nine years old and was married there to Zachariah Izer on December 4, 1881, 6 children being born to them, of whom five are living: Martin A. and Charles F. of Marion; Mrs. Amy Brindel of Cedar Rapids; Miss Lizetta Izer of Davenport and Mrs. Fred Neal of Marion. Mrs. Izer is survived by her husband and by five brothers and two half sisters: Scott Bowers of La Porte City; Christ Bowers of Toddville; Abe Bowers of Oelwein; John Bowers of Toddville; a half brother, JJoe[sic] Kline of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Lizzie Conn of Ocheydan and Mrs. Eliza Autumn of Thorne, Minn.
Mr. and Mrs. Izer came to Marion soon after their marriage and have since lived here.
Funeral services will be held at the home Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. A.H. Hanscom. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery.
