Lewis Batchelder, 73, of 1133 Washington drive, a resident of Linn county for many years, died Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in a Cedar Rapids hospital after a ten day illness. Mr. Batchelder was born at Langworthy March 25, 1866, the son of Albert and Harriet Hunter Batchelder. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Batchelder, to whom he was married March 20, 1912, a brother, C.E. Batchelder, of Marion, and two step--daughters, Mrs. R.L. Randall of Iowa City and Mrs. C.W. Pollock of Bennett. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Hatch chapel in Central City with the Rev. C. Finley Stratton of Lisbon in charge. Burial will be in Mount Clark cemetery at Central City.
