Ed proudly served in the Naval Reserve, he then married Darlene Joan “Dolly” Thompson on June 12, 1955 in Marion, Iowa. The couple lived in Ft. Benning, Georgia while he was in the Army and then moved back to Marion. In 1964 the couple bought a farm near Center Point, Iowa. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, woodworking, playing pool, hosting the Lighthouse Academy Volleyball Team, and supported all of his grandchildren’s activities. But the thing Ed treasured most was the time spent with his family and loved ones. Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be missed dearly by those closest to him.
