Patricia Ann Edgerly, 82,
of Marion, Iowa, formerly of Central City, Iowa, passed away peacefully from a brief battle with cancer on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at the Ed and Joan Hemphill Hospice Unit within St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, at the Alburnett Christian Church officiated by the Rev. Dan Peterson. Burial will take place at the Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills, Iowa. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
Pat was born May 9, 1938, in Quasqueton, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Lola (Kile) Polk. She graduated from Troy Mills High School. On Aug. 17, 1958, in Troy Mills, Patricia was united in marriage to James Edgerly. Pat was employed at Alburnett Community Schools for 18 years as the head cook. She was a member of the Alburnett Christian Church, Troy Mills American Legion Auxiliary and the Central City Historical Society, where she served on the board. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Vickie (Mike) Wickham of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Colleen (Tim) Abodeely of Fairfax, Iowa; five grandchildren, Andrew Wickham, Patrick (Jacque) Wickham, Daniel Wickham, Michelle (Jessie) Peters and Allison (Ryan) Pramberg; eight great-grandchildren, Audrey Manning, Emma Wickham, Axel Wickham, Lane Wickham, Raelyn Peters, Cael Peters, Kaylee Pramberg and Savannah Pramberg; her sister, Betty Gericke of Walker; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Edgerly, JoAnn Polk and Esther Stick; and many nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Edgerly; sister, Louise Rowe; and brother, Junior Polk.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Pat's memory may be directed to the Central City Historical Society for the Sawyer House, Alburnett Christian Church or the Troy Mills Legion Auxiliary.
