February 27, 1964 - The Anamosa Eureka

SPRINGVILLE--Sara Kay Soukup, 15, Springville, died early Sunday morning, Feb. 23, enroute to a hospital of injuries received in a car accident on a county road four miles east of Marion.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church, Springville. Rev. Maurice Gunn conducted the service. Burial was in Riverside cemetery, Anamosa. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers included Lyle Anderson, Charles Hepker, Rodger Grant, Berry Youngman, Dale Hanna and John Zaruba.

She was born July 30, 1948, at Anamosa, daughter of Virgil Soukup and Berneice Benischek Soukup. She was a student in the 9th grade at Springville high school.

Survivors include her parents: three sisters, Brenda, Mrs. Verlin Herren, Austin, Texas; Barbara, Mrs. Donald Coonrad, Springville; Leanne Soukup, at home; and a brother, Kelvin Soukup at home.

Others include her grandparents, Mrs. Neil Townsend and Edward Benischek, Anamosa; and Thomas Soukup, Springville.
