Sergt. Russell Miner, 26, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Miner, Springville, was killed in action in Italy, according to a notice sent by the war department to his parents.

A brother, Sergt. Vernon Miner, 28, is missing and two other brothers, Clifford, 21, and Edward, 20, are in Italy.

The four brothers went to war with the Cedar Rapids company of the National guard. Vernon and Russell enlisted December 15, 1940.
