Widow of the Late George McCorkle Passes Away at Home Near Palo
Shellsburg, April 5--Special: On Easter morning at 11 o'clock, Mrs. Ardelia McCorkle, widow of the late George McCorkle, passed away at the home of her son, Willard McCorkle, one mile west of Palo. The deceased was 81 years of age and had been confined to her bed the past three months. Mrs. McCorkle was the oldest member of White Lily chapter, No. 187, O.E.S. and had a host of friends in this vicinity. For the past few years she and her daughter have made their home at 1610 Third avenue, Cedar Rapids.
Mrs. McCorkle is survived by the following children, Dr. G.E. McCorkle, for many years a practicing physician at Shellsburg now located at Keysville, Virginia; Willard McCorkle of Palo, Walter McCorkle of Minnesota, Mrs. Dora Oyer of Palo and Miss Etta McCorkle residing at home. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
