Catherin Dukek Died Tuesday
Funeral services for Catherine Mary Dukek, 85, will be held at the Yocom-Murdoch Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Friday with the Rev. R. E. Kerney, Alburnett, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Mrs. L.B. DeWees and Mrs. Ralph Young will sing.
Mrs. Dukek died Tuesday at 12:40 p.m. in St. Luke's hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Germany, June 14, 1864. She moved to this country at the age of two years and settled in Muscatine. When a young girl she came to Alburnett and lived in that vicinity and Marion since. She was married Nov. 3, 1881 to J.W. Dukek, who died at Marion on June 16, 1940. She belonged to the Alburnett Evangelical United Brethren church.
She is survived by three children, Earl, Alburnett, Charles, Marion, and Mrs. Edith Blackford, Marion; five grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A son Grant and a daughter Martha died in childhood.
