K. Lyle Touro, 78, formerly of 701 Ninth Ave., Marion, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 1995, in Winslow House Care Center after an extended illness. Services: 2 p.m. Monday, First Presbyterian Church, Marion, by the Rev. Howard Chapman. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery...
Survivors include a brother, Reginald and wife Vera of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Fay Freitag and husband Bill of North Highlands, Calif.; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Eloise Sorenson; and an infant brother, Wayne.
Lyle was born the son of George and Mabel Benson Touro on July 2, 19917, on a farm in rural Linn County. He farmed with his father and for many years organized and managed young boys' softball games and organized many bowling leagues. After retiring he was a school crossing guard for Starry Elementary for several years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and an honorary member of the Marion Boosters Club of Marion High School.
