Jake, son of Henry James Beirnes and Lisa Lyn Beirnes was born on Tuesday, May 22, 2001 in Iowa City, IA. He attended West High School, Iowa City and worked construction: concrete repairing and sealing. Jake was a hard worker who was proud to work alongside his brother and his dad at Millennium Concrete LLC, Iowa City, IA. Jake and his brother enjoyed doing everything together including a short-lived business venture and through those experiences they figured out that they were better at being best friends than business partners. Although Jake and his sister did not work together, their relationship was just as strong and meaningful. They spent endless hours lovingly giving each other a hard time and laughing about it. Jake was the most loyal brother and son anyone could ask for. In his free time, Jake enjoyed live music, spending time with his girlfriend, Sophie, his friends, and his family. He loved being outside: fishing, ATVs, paintball and sports of any kind! He was a fan of Harry Potter and also Hawkeye fan in spite of his mother—a running joke between them. Jake will be remembered for the passion and confidence he poured into everything. He was the kind of person who was there for you if you needed anything, and he had an uncanny way of making other people laugh and feel loved.

Jake is survived by his parents, Henry James Beirnes (Melody Githens) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Lisa Lyn Beirnes (Jason Harmon) of Tipton, IA; brother, Cole Beirnes of Waterloo, IA and sister, Samantha Beirnes of Des Moines, IA; grandparents, James (Audrey) Beirnes of Canada, Henry (Susan) Morris Jr of Council Bluffs, IA;
aunts and uncles, Tim (Jane) Harrison of Omaha, NE, Aaron Beirnes of Canada, and Kelcy Beirnes of Canada; his girlfriend, Sophie Gist; and special friends, Aiden Githens, Lucy Githens, Keely Craighton, and Sawyer Harmon.
