PRAIRIEBURG - John A. Walker, 81, Prairieburg, died Sunday, Jan. 27, at Mercy hospital, Anamosa.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Prairieburg. Rev. Louis Trizil officiated at the service. Interment was in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Pallbearers included William Kula, Donald Dolan, Robert Woodward, Carl Kinzel, Arthur Kula and Leo Holub.

He was born July 25, 1881, son of Michael C. Walker and Barbara Dupal Walker, Prairieburg. He was married to Gertrude Power on Feb. 20, 1917, at Prairieburg. He had lived the early part of his life on a farm and for the last 25 years had worked as a general painter.

Survivors include his wife, Prairieburg; a daughter, Lucille, Mrs. Gene Maxson, Marion; and a sister, Elizabeth Talbert, Fremont, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, ten brothers and sisters.
