William Ellsworth Scott, a former Marion resident, passed away Monday evening at the home of his cousin, Bentley Scott, at Garfield, Ark.
He was born the son of Walter W. and Lizzie Lucore Scott, two miles north of Marion Oct. 16, 1887. About 18 years ago he moved with his mother to southern California; five years ago he moved to Livingston, Calif. and last April to Arkansas.
He was employed for many years by the Hetherington Letter Co. in Cedar Rapids. he served with the United States Army during World War I. Mr. Scott was a 1905 graduate pf Marion High School, and a member of Marion Presbyterian church and Marion Post No. 298, American Legion.
Surviving are several cousins. Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister, Jennie May Scott and a brother, Arthur.
Services were conducted Monday Oct. 8, at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion, by Rev. Jean P. Hauter.
Interment was at Oak Shade cemetery with military services by Marion Post No. 298, American Legion.
