PRAIRIEBURG--Funeral rites for Mrs. Martin Holub, 81, who died at her home in Prairieburg Tuesday night after a long illness, will be held Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's church with Rev. S. J. Kucera officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mrs. Holub was born Oct. 14, 1860, at Iowa City, daughter of Frank Holub and Kathryn Malana. In 1878 she was married to Martin Holub at the old Catholic church two and one-half miles south of Prairieburg. They farmed near Prairieburg for many years and moved to Prairieburg when they retired 18 years ago.

In 1928 Mr. and Mrs. Holub celebrated their golden wedding anniversary and at that time received a wire from President Calvin Coolidge and a cable from the Pope in Rome congratulating them on their anniversary and on their family which numbered 16 at the time.

Mr. Holub preceded her in death in December, 1933. Of their 23 children, the 15 who survive are: five daughters, Mrs. Ludwig Yanda, Mrs. Mary Flaherty and Mrs. Frank Lawrence, Anamosa, and Mrs. Emma Walker, Prairieburg, and Mrs. Albert L. Holub, Monticello; and 10 sons, Joe, Martin, Frank, Thomas and Victor, all Prairieburg, John, Paul and Raymond, Anamosa, Henry, Monticello, and William, Central City.
