The remains of John Grauel, who died at Storm Lake last Friday, arrived in the city this morning. They were accompanied by his daughter, Mrs. Horigan, and her husband, of Storm Lake, and Lewis Grauel, his son of Belle Plaine. Interment was at Oak Shade cemetery at 3 o'clock this afternoon.

Mr. John Grauel was born Oct. 31, 1820, in Franklin county, Ohio, and died Dec. 5, 1902, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Horidon in Lake City, Iowa. He moved to Iowa in 1843. He was married to Miss Sarah Groves Jan. 22, 1857. Five children were born to this union. Two are still living. The deceased with his family were residents of Marion for many years, and he was a honored and respected citizen. When his health failed he, with his wife, went to Lake City, Iowa, where they made their home with their daughter, and where the funeral services were held. The remains were brought here for interment Dec. 7, 1902. Rev. T.M. Evans of the M.E. church officiated.
