Services Tuesday for Carl Irwin, Alburnett
ALBURNETT--Carl Irwin, 88, a longtime Linn county resident, died in a Cedar Rapids hospital Saturday morning following a sudden illness.
He was born May 14, 1875, at Omaha, Neb. He was married to Mary Catherine Bachman, who died in August of 1926 at Alburnett. Mr. Irwin lived in Marion and was an engineer for the Milwaukee railroad until 50 years ago when he moved to Alburnett and was engaged in farming until his retirement.
Surviving are a son, William Irwin; a daughter, Mrs. Leonard Wilson, both of Alburnett, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services: Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Murdoch chapel in Marion. Friends may call at Murdoch's after 1 p.m. Sunday.
