--Mrs. Ella Leach Butterfield, widow of the late E.D. Butterfield, died Sunday, Nov. 14, at her home in Dubuque, Iowa. The body was brought to Marion Monday morning and the funeral was held at the Congregational church, Rev. M. Barrett being in charge. Mrs. F.L. Anderson, Miss Marguerite Sutherland, Robert Toms and Donald Christie furnished the music. Mrs. Butterfield was born in Marion on Jan. 30, 1859, where most of her life was spent. She was the daughter of Purdy Leach, one of the pioneer members of the Marion Congregational church, of which Mrs. Butterfield was a life-long member. She is survived by two daughters, Miss Anna Butterfield and Mrs. Alice Rowan, both of Dubuque. Interment took place in Oak Shade cemetery, alongside the remains of her parents and husband.
