Kathleen D. Bruce, 95 of Hiawatha passed away on Wednesday, April 01, 2020 at the Hiawatha Care Center in Hiawatha. Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having any public services at this time. A public visitation and memorial mass will be held at a later date. Private family graveside services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Kate is survived by her daughter, Kathy Driscoll of Cedar Rapids, IA; a son, Jim (Vicki) Bruce of The Villages, FL; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Bob (Marie) Doyle of Des Moines, IA; two sister-in-law’s, Helen Bruce of Vinton, IA; and Patricia Smith, niece Sue (Jack) Lindstrom of Marion, IA; and many other loving nieces and nephews; also best friends, Carrie Poust and her son Rick of Florida.

Kate was born December 07, 1924 in Ironton, Wisconsin. Kate worked at Collins Radio for 33 yrs. as an engineer. She loved to travel, being with her family and friends, playing bridge and other card games, doing jigsaw puzzles, and loved to dance. She was a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church and former member of the Merry Mix dance group.

Kate was preceded in death by her husband Wayne; parents, James ( Rose) Doyle; mother-in-law, Monica Doyle; a brother, Larry; three sisters Evelyn, Margaret and Darlene; son-in-law, Dave Driscoll; sister-in-law and brother-in-law’s, Maxine and Doug Welbourne, and Jack Bruce.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Church Catholic Church, 50 Edgewood Rd. SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
