Mary E. Bailey Died Wednesday In CR Hospital
Mrs. Mary E. Bailey, 1623 1/2 Ninth ave., passed away at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, at a Cedar Rapids hospital.
She was born February 1, 1874 at Springville, the daughter of John R. and Cynthia Thomas Pearson. Her husband the Rev. Bert S. Bailey, who served many Eastern Iowa Methodist churches passed away away January 4, 1928 at Dysart. For many years since his death Mrs. Bailey has been a practical nurse. Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Lisbon Methodist church and of the Eastern Star chapter at Lisbon.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Neva Yenney, Minneapolis, a niece, Mrs. Cleo Northrup and a nephew Leo Pearson, both of Anamosa.
Memorial services were conducted at 2 p.m. at the Murdoch chapel by the Rev. James P. Gable, pastor of the Marion Methodist church. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery.
