Noyes A. Baker died Saturday at his home 679 Central Avenue, after a long illness. He has been a resident of Marion since 1885 when he moved here from Steuben county, New York, where his boyhood was spent and where two brother survive out of a family of eight children.
For several years Mr. Baker was employed in the dry goods store now conducted by Shumack and Sebern. Later he ran a grocery store here and served as a clothing store clerk in some of the leading Cedar Rapids stores. His wife survives him.
A funeral service was held Monday from the Presbyterian church, Rev. Fisher in charge and burial was in the local cemetery.
