Leo J. Hofferd, 408 Tenth street SE, died in a local hospital at 7:55 a.m. Monday after a short illness. He was born in Norway, Ia., April 15, 1892, and was married to Miss Elizabeth Glenn in Oxford Junction April 20, 1915, moving to Cedar Rapids shortly afterward. He had made his home here since then. He owned and operated the White Cross laboratories.
In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by a daughter, Glennys. A daughter, Virginia preceded him in heath May 8, 1932. He also leaves four sisters, Miss Marie Hofferd and Mrs. H.L. Garrett, both of Waterloo; Mrs. Clara Fleming, Norway; Mrs. Richard Williams, of Manly; three brothers, Henry and Frank, both of Norway and Dr. A.M. Hofferd, Cedar Rapids, and several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the Traveling Men's association and the Immaculate conception church. Funeral arrangement will be made later. The body will be taken Tuesday afternoon from the Teahen funeral home to the residence where friends may call.
