Cedar Rapids Standard Wednesday February 10, 1892
SPRINGVILLE
Nathaniel Anson Freeman was born Nov. 6th 1859, at Springville Iowa; died at same place Jan. 22d, 1892. Was married to Lizzie Breneman Oct. 2d, 1881, since which union four children have been born, two of which died in infancy. Anson Freeman was the son of J.W. Freeman, one of the oldest merchants of Linn County, and one of the pioneer settlers of the state. He was stricken with la grippe two years ago, from which he never recovered, and which finally resulted in his death. His bravery in meeting and battling with death, with every faculty alert, was a lesson to the loving friends who strove to alleviate his almost constant pain, and who sorrowfully awaited the end. Having lived all his life among the people of this vicinity, he was well and favorably known, and leaves besides a wife two children, father, mother and four sisters, many friends to mourn his untimely end.
