Ben H. Witwer was cremated and his ashes interred in Oak Hill Cemetery on Oct. 4, 1962.

Cedar Rapids Gazette, Sat., June 28, 1952:
"BEN H. WITWER
Ben H. Witwer, 75, of 2222 Fifth avenue SE, a Cedar Rapids wholesale broker for many years and a lifelong resident of the city, died at his home Friday at 8:10 p.m. following a lingering illness.

Born Feb. 18, 1877, in Cedar Rapids, Mr. Witwer was treasurer of the First Christian Church for more than 30 years and in recent years was a member of the board of trustees.

For 25 years he was secretary-treasurer of the Cedar Rapids Country club.

He was married to Jessie Epler on June 19, 1900, in Cedar Rapids.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Mrs. Will J. Price, of Scarsdale, N. Y.; a sister, Mrs. Amor Sargent of Cedar Rapids; twin brothers, George of Cedar Rapids and Louis, of Tulsa, Okla., and three grandchildren.

Services will be conducted in the Turner Chapel Monday at 5 p.m. by Dr. Galen L. Rose. There will be a cremation committal.

The family requests that friends please omit flowers. Friends may call at the chapel."
