Michael J. Griffin, 2601 Meadowbrook drive SE, died Wednesday following a brief illness. Born Oct. 30, 1891, in Milwaukee, he was married to the former Olga Kirchmayer June 27, 1914, in Milwaukee and moved to Cedar Rapids in 1916.
He had been purchasing agent for Terry-Durbin Company 47 years before his retirement in 1964. Mr. Griffin was a 50-year member of Mt. Hermon Masonic lodge, member of the Cedar Rapids Consistory, El Kahir Shrine, Ambar Grotto, and Cedar chapter Order of Eastern Star.
His wife is his only immediate survivor.
Services: Turner chapel east at 1:30 p.m. Saturday by Dr. Marion Williams and Mt. Hermon lodge. There will be a cremation committal. Friends may call at Turner east until 1 p.m. Saturday. The casket will not be open after the service. All Master Masons are asked to meet with Mt. Hermon lodge at Turner east at 1:15 p.m. Saturday to attend the service.
