Linda Kay Bixby, 70, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family.
Services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018, at
11 a.m. at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2018, at Cedar Memorial Stateroom. Burial will follow the service at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Buss Bixby of Marion; son, Todd (Toni) Bixby of Marion; grandchildren, Tucker and Trey Bixby, sister, Lori Wolfe; brother, Rick (Darla) Brandon; and several nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Brandon; and sister, Susan Diedrick.
Linda Kay Brandon was born July 8, 1947, to her parents, Clair and Berta Brandon, in Marshalltown, Iowa. The family moved to Cedar Rapids and she graduated from Jefferson High School in 1965. Linda met the love of her life, Buss Bixby, in 1964. They would later marry and start a family in 1965.
Linda, known as "Momo" to her grandsons, enjoyed reading, crafts and traveling, especially to the oceans. She was a woman who opened her heart and arms to all she met, especially the furry creatures. Family and friends were the most important part of her life. Her favorite saying was to tell everyone that she loved them to the moon and back.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
