The Marion Pilot Thursday January 17, 1895
Obituary.
ANNIE TRITLE.
"Fold her, O Father, in thine arms,
And let her henceforth be
A messenger of love between
Our human hearts and thee."
On Tuesday , Jan. 15th, as the morning broke for earth, the dawning of the heavenly life came to Anna Tritle.
She was born March 20, 1870, in Greencastle, Penn., and was the daughter of Anna E. and John H. Tritle. When a little girl but four years of age her mother died. Seven years ago she came to Marion and this has been her home ever since. Here her gracious young womanhood made many friends; modest, industrious, true, she blessed in her her quiet way, many lives. Eight months ago the disease that closed her life, made itself thoroughly felt, insidiously, constantly it wrought its dread work upon her frame and at last broke the brittle thread of life.
Eight months of patient, uncomplaining suffering, eight months of alternating hope and discouragement, and then no more pain, "for the former things were passed away."
Several years ago she united with the Methodist Episcopal church, and was a devoted, faithful member. Christ was her friend in health, her perfect Savior in death. Her long illness and death occurred at the residence of her brother William, and father, John H., the dear ones in the home anticipating every wish in loving service. She was buried from the home on Wednesday, p.m., her pastor, Rev. J.G Van Ness, officiating.
