Karin Manners Springfield, 71, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, July 26, 2019, at the Pillars of Cedar Valley Care Center, Waterloo. Her father was Clayton Alex Manners and mother Doris Elaine (Squires) Manners, both of Santa Cruz, Calif. She was born April, 4, 1948.
Rosary and services were 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, by Father Zoy Garibay, rector. Friends were welcome to attend services. Burial: Cedar Memorial is handling the cremation and burial. Karin will be in the mausoleum next to the chapel. Karin is survived by her husband, Wayne of Cedar Rapids; her sons, Clayton Tricker, Mountain View, Calif., and Chris Plsik, Ramona, Calif.; her sisters, Tonia and Elaine, both of Santa Cruz, Calif.; and several grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
Karin was born at Lockland Air Force Base Hospital, in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from high school and traveled the country ending up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She worked as a customer contact person for AEGON in 2000. She married Carlos Wayne Springfield in Santa Cruz, Calif., in 2001. When in Spokan, Wash., she developed a flair for breeding and training hybrid wolves. She had a service dog, Buddy Roo, who we all loved dearly. She was a person who changed and blessed the lives of those around her. She lived in her own unique way, with laugher and beauty and grace. She was a beautiful gift to this world, she will always be loved.
