Funeral services were held for the Rev. Charles Moore, 73, a resident of Marion since 1945, June 13 at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion with the Rev. Lola Andrews of Unity Church of Cedar Rapids officiating.
Interment was at Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
He died June 11 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a sudden illness.
He was born the son of Charles and Frieda Suntken Moore on Jan. 10, 1914 in Gibson City, Ill.
On Jan. 10, 1933 in Indianapolis, In., he was married to Marcella Beaman.
Rev. Moore had served in Methodist and Baptist churches since 1945, last serving Parkers Grove Baptist Church in Shellsburg and semi-retired in 1981.
He was also a New York Life Insurance agent for 25 years. He was postmaster of the Benton City Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner.
Surviving are his wife; a brother, Wesley Moore of Priest River, Idaho; and several nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Sharon.
