OBITUARY.
Once more the solemn strokes of the funeral chimes have announced the departure of a loved one from our city. Mrs. Lizzie Hale, wife of Harry Hale, of this city,w as born in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, March 27, 1872, and died at the home of her parents in Muscatine, Iowa, May 20, 1895, in the 24th year of her age. In her youth she united with the church of the United Brethren in Christ and continued faithfully with them until her marriage and removal to our city some three years ago. She here united in fellowship with the First Congregational church and was respected and loved by all who knew her.
The funeral services were held on May 22, at the home of Mr. Hale and were conducted by Rev. Jno. W. Geiger, the pastor of the family. Mrs. Hale was attacked with quick consumption, and though her husband took her to Florida and he and her friends did all they could for her, health failed quickly and she is now gone before to that hourne[sic] from which no traveller returns. The parents and friends of the deceased were at the funeral and many of our citizens joined to show her memory honor.
