Death of Mrs. Amelia Granger.
The death of Mrs. Amelia Granger, aged 84, occurred Friday, July 3, at her home in Marion. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the M.E. Church, the pastor, Rev. T.M. Evans, officiating. The deceased was born in Lancaster county, Pa., June 29, 1819. She removed with her parents to Iowa in 1853. When a girl she was confirmed in the Lutheran church but later united with the Methodist church, of which she has been a faithful member for nearly seventy years. She was a noble christian woman, beloved by all who knew her. On January 25, 1875, she was married to Samuel Granger who preceded her to the better land in 1882. Besides more distant relatives she leaves to mourn her death, three sisters and one brother. They are Mrs. Showers of Madison, Wis., Mrs. White of Clinton, Mrs. J.E. Bromwell Sr., of Marion, and Joseph Bonnell of New Sharon, Pa.
