Cedar Rapids Gazette Tuesday January 22, 1952
Ellroy John Howard, 2402 C avenue NE, an employe of the LaPlant-Choate Manufacturing Company for 10 years and a Cedar Rapids resident for 31 years, died in a Cedar Rapids hospital at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday following a long illness.
Born Dec. 12, 1886, at Stanburry[sic], Mo., he came to Cedar Rapids from Quincy, Ill. He was a veteran of World war I serving as sergeant in headquarters company M.R.U. 305.
Only survivor is his wife, Esther.
Services will be conducted in the Turner chapel at 1:30 p.m. Thursday by Dr. Galen L. Rose, pastor of the First Christian church. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
