Andrew C. Nielsen, 86, a retired farmer and a resident of the Waubeek and Springville area for the past 70 years, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, June 30 at his home. He was born the son of Chris and Mary Nielsen on Oct. 4, 1886 at Copenhagen, Denmakrk. On Jan. 28, 1919 at Anamosa he was married to Eldeva Stone.
Surviving are his wife; five sons, Robert Nielsen of Leaburg, Ore., Rayman and Richard Nielsen of Central City, Ronald Nielsen of Alburnett, and Harold Nielsen of Marion; one daughter, Mrs. George (Marie) Brown of Anamosa; 18 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one sister, Katrina Mickelsen of Wisconsin Dells, Wis. He was preceded in death by one son, Marvin Nielsen; two brothers and one sister.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 3 at the United Methodist church in Springville, conducted by the Rev. Clive Clook. Interment was in Springville cemetery. Murdoch chapel in Central City had charge of the arrangements.
