The Funeral Services.
The funeral services of Miss Mattie E. Alexander, at the home of her parents on north 11th street, Saturday afternoon, were largely attended, evidencing the high esteem in which she was held.
She was born in Davenport and came to Marion with her parents when she was 11 years old and her home has been in this city ever since.
She was a prominent member of the Methodist church and Womans Relief Corps. She was a splendid girl and held in the highest esteem by all.
The funeral services were conducted by Mr. Pye, pastor of the church to which she belonged. A quartet composed of Mesdames V.G. Shumack and F.L. Anderson and Messrs. C.F. Reichart and J.J. Booth, furnished the music.
The members of the W.R.C. attended in a body and had charge of the exercises at the grave.
