Death of Mrs. Ellen Scott.
Mrs. Ellen Scott, mother of Deputy Sheriff S.B. Scott died, Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock. She had been a paralytic sufferer since last January. She would have been 80 years old today.
She died at the home of her son, on north 12th street. Rev. L.M. Hutton, pastor of the Congregational church and Rev. J.A. Smith, pastor of the Presbyterian church conducted the funeral services which were held Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
She was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Her husband died in 1892. Three sons, Deputy Sheriff S.B., W.W. and Charles N. all of whom reside in or near Marion survive. Since the death of her husband her home has been with S.B. Scott. She will be greatly missed by her relatives and a large circle of friends all of whom deeply sympathise[sic] with the bereaved families.
