James Woodburn Woods, 79, died Friday at 9:00 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Florence Conrad, 562 Seventh avenue where he has made his home for the past two years. He came to Marion over forty years ago, and followed the trade of plasterer until he was forced to retire by the exegencies of age. He was born at Newville, Pa., Nov. 8, 1861, and was never married. Before taking up his present residence he made his home with his sister, Lillie Woods Emerson, who died in 1938.
He is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Charles Hakes of Solon and Mrs. William McDonald of Cedar Rapids. He was a member of the Marion Presbyterian church, and his pastor the Rev. C.V.R. DeJong conducted the funeral services at the Yocom chapel Sunday after at 2:30 o'clock. Burial was made in Oak Shade cemetery.
