Herbert P. Price Died Thurs. P.M. After Brief Illness
HERBERT P. PRICE, 1141 Twelfth Street, passed away at 8:47 p.m. Thursday at a Cedar Rapids hospital following a brief illness.
Born the son of Robert D. and Leora Pleogh Price on Nov. 13, 1896 at Marion. He has been a life long resident of Marion and was married there on Oct. 2, 1920 to Miss Lillian Martin. At the time of his passing he was credit manager of the Sunshine Market in Cedar Rapids. During World War I he served as a musician 3rd class with the Coast Artillery Corps.
Price was a member of the Marion Presbyterian church. He was a Past Commander and at present Chaplain of Marion Post No. 298, American Legion and was a member of Marion Ldoge No. 6, A.F. & A.M.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Richard Price of Tipton; three grandchildren: David, Carol and Roger Price of Tipton; two brothers, George and Ray Price of Marion and two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Lesher and Mrs. Frances Griswold of Marion.
Memorial services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Murdoch Funeral Home by the Rev.C.V.R. De Jong. Military services were conducted by Marion Post No. 298, American Legion at the graveside in Oak Shade Cemetery.
