FIFTEEN OLD SETTLERS PASS AWAY DURING THE YEAR.
MARSHALL PARMENTER
was born in Boston, Mass., Nov. 28, 1823, and at the age of 15 years made Ohio his home until 1855 when he moved to Marion where he resided until his death, July 27, 1893, at the age of 65 years, 7 months and 29 days. He was married to Maria Barker in November, 1848, who with four children survive him. Mr. Parmenter during his residence in our midst made his principal business that of teaming and in that line had been a careful, prudent and hard working man up to within a few years, when failing health compelled him to retire from business. He was recognized as one of our leading citizens, honorable and trustworthy in all his business transactions, generous and always ready to do his part.
