Obituary.
The funeral of little Ella Jones was held on Tuesday, November 7th, 1899. After prayers were offered at the house the funeral procession, led by the pastor Rev. Walter H. Reynolds, proceeded to the Presbyterian church where a brief discourse was delivered. The burial was at Oak Shade cemetry[sic]. Ella Marie, daughter of J.E. and Elizabeth Morley Jones was born September 4th, 1894. From that September day when she came until the day in November five years later, when she went, her presence was the joy and gladness of her parents home. Five beautiful years! For all their blessings, God be thanked. For their imperishable memories His name be praised.
On the Sabbath, one week before her death, hearing the morning church bells ring she expressed a wish to go to the church she loved so well. This was not to be, save as by dear friends her lovely body was born for burial from it, but in a nobler sense she went when, for her the bells of heaven rang, to the church of the redeemer and general assembly of the saints in the lands where Sabbath has no ending. She shall not come again to us but may we who remain amid earthly dangers temptations and troubles each say--I shall go to see her.
