The Marion Register Wednesday September 26, 1894
DIED.
At home, in Marion, September 20th, 1894, Stella, daughter of Valentine and Paulina Reinheimer.
She was born in Marion, November 12, 1877. She had four sisters, one of them dying in infancy, and four brothers, one of them Frank died on the 26th of last January. Her parents, three sisters, and three brothers are living, and all in Marion.
Stella's health made it necessary for her to leave school last March, but at first, no serious danger was apprehended, but soon symptons[sic] of consumption appeared, and all the efforts of her physicians failed to arrest the progress of the disease.
For weeks, but little, if any hopes of her recovery have been entertained either by her physician or friends. While able she was a regular attendant at Sabbath School and Church. Having expressed a wish to unite with the church and not being able to meet with the session at the church, the session convened at her home, and after praying with her, and having her testimony in regard to her repentance, and trust in Christ, and being satisfied with the evidence that she was born of God, voted unanimously to receive her as a member of the Presbyterian Church.
As she prefered[sic] to be baptised in the church, the administration of this sacrament was delayed, in hope that she might recover sufficiently to come again to the public sanctuary. God granted her desire, and on Sunday, the 2d of September, she was brought, baptised, and sat down for the first and last time, with the people of God, at the Lord's table on earth, but has now, as we fondly believe, sat down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of God in Heaven, and is singing the song of Moses and the Lamb.
Scarcely had the dark cloud which covered this family in last January been lifted, when another descended, but as it descended, it took on a silver lining. The going out of Stella's life was like a beautiful sunset. A halo of glory gilds the tombs of all who fall asleep in Jesus. Though not seen by the natural eye, it is seen by Him who seeth not as man seeth.
The funeral service was at the house, conducted by her Pastor, assisted by the Revs. Van Ness and Klene.
