W.E. Reinheimer Lifelong Marion Resident Dies
William Edgar Reinheimer, 82, a lifelong resident of Marion, passed away at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 1955, following a long illness at the home of his nephew, Archie D. Reinheimer, 257 Ninth ave., with whom he had made his home for the past eleven years.
He was born on a farm east of Marion on August 2, 1872 the son of Valentine and Paulina Bachman Reinheimer. Mr. Reinheimer was a cemeter contractor in Mairon for more than forty years prior to his retirement. He was married May 4, 1905 at Marion to Miss Mary A. King who passed away at their home, 488 Ninth ave. on February 4, 1940. Mr. Reinheimer was a member of the Presbyterian church. He was an active member of the Marion Volunteer Fire department for many years and some years ago was honored as the oldest living volunteer fireman in Marion.
Surviving in addition to Archie Reinheimer who was reared in his home are two brothers, M.P. Reinheimer of Marion and John Reinheimer of Ackley and several other nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Murdoch chapel by the Rev. R. Franklin Golloway and interment will be in Oak Shade cemetery.
