Alma B. Scown Died Monday
Funeral services for Alma B. Scown, 76, were held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Yocom-Murdoch Chapel with the Rev. James P. Gable officiating. Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery. Pallbearers were Howard Schrimper, Joseph Bigger, Leonard Taylor, Oscar Martin, Neal Biek and George Peyton.
Mrs. Scown died suddenly at her home at 2061 Fifth ave., Monday at 8:00 p.m. She was born August 23, 1873 at Lamertine, Wis., the daughter of George H. and Henrietta Carpenter Moulton. She moved to Nebraska when she was 12 years old. She was married to Edmund S. Scown, June 10, 1900 at Aurora, Neb. They moved to Marion in 1908 from Nebraska City. She was a member of the Marion Methodist church, and also belonged to the Sunshine club.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a sister, Miss Maude Moulton, Weeping Water, Neb. A son died in infancy.
